So I just went out and bought an amazing digital camera, so that means I’m going to start taking these amazing photos now. I bought an amazing oven but my roast’s still aren’t good BUT this amazing camera takes amazing photos!
I thought after buying my coffee machine I could have amazing in-home coffee – Well I was WRONG! I had to go and learn how to use the machine to get the most out of it, learn it’s function, how to operate it properly. I did a barista course and talked to lots of people and now I can make a pretty good coffee (if I do say so myself!)
So photography is similar, just because you own the meanest, leanest camera doesn’t mean your images are going to instantly be amazing, you may get the odd one here and there, but what about if you got those great shots more regularly and you got them because you knew your equipment, how to use it and exactly what all those little buttons do! I’ve decided I’d like to share my knowledge that I have gained over the past many a year, staying up late researching, talking with other photographers, going to innumerable conferences, workshops, retreats, and of course the biggest thing actually holding the camera up to my face and shooting!!!! My workshops are aimed at the VERY beginner, you will learn about light, manual settings, exposure, composition to name a few.
You will have a fun time, you will eat yummy snacks, you will have some practical time shooting by the beach at the end of my street, you will be able to email me afterwards for followup questions, you will take better photos! Please email me jessica@essenceimages.com.au if this is something you are interested in. Workshops will take place in Redcliffe which is 30minutes north of Brisbane – I look forward to hearing from you! Dates for the first two workshops are Thursday the 19th April 9:30am and Saturday the 14th April 9:30am Jess![]()
