Mothers

Sam wrote to me and said,
“I’ve just all of a sudden had this overwhelming urge to have some family photos that I’m in, as it’s the usual story of I always take photos of the kids & husband, and some seriously sketchy ‘selfies’ with the kiddos!”
Does this sound familiar to you? It certainly does to me. Us mumma’s seem to be the last ones be in the photos but we are the ones to organise our photo shoots (mostly – although I can probably count on one hand how many men have contacted me for photo shoots in the past 8 years….)
Another Mother’s day is fast approaching, and it also seems like we are the ones who need an “excuse” or a way to justify having someone capture our families. Either “It’s my birthday” or “It’s Mother’s Day” or “It Christmas” seem to be the popular catch cry for, “I’m never in any photo’s, these kids are growing up before my very eyes. I want to celebrate our family with all of us in the image so that we can remember what it was like to be together as a family for years to come.”
I loved how Sam contacted me knowing how important it is to have these memories. We had such a chilled afternoon just hanging out – with much reluctance to leave the beach and end the shoot by the little people. We had no agenda and just a rough plan of where we would go – the water, the place her kids love to be and could just “be”
So if you are in Brisbane and would like update or finally have your family captured I have a special available until Mother’s Day…
