Courage Is….

What is courage to you?

Is it walking from your bedroom to the toilet in the dark?

Is it pulling a splinter out of your finger?

Is it saying goodbye to someone you love as they go on a long journey?

Is it being there witnessing someone you love suffering?

Is it being told you have cancer, needing surgery and  treatment and still being able to smile –

maybe not all the time, but more often than not?

Is it about still seeing those small beautiful connections we share and rejoicing in them even though you are in pain?

Is it letting go of any preconceived idea of how it should be, how it ought to be, how you want it to be.

It is being vulnerable to joy knowing that all and sunder is not permanent in this world?

I often ask myself what courage really (but I struggle with the words) is and when I see this face below she is a beacon of courage

of hope and of love. Her light really is a fierce beautiful and catchy kind, and I know many would vouch for this.

I adored spending this time with her and the other times we have spent together as well. I look forward to more times in the future too.

Ula You are a bright shining gift from the Universe!

“You is kind. You is smart. You is important”
